Population growth in three African countries compared with three European countries

Stumbled upon this very interesting Google tool that allows you to graphically view publicly available data. I made one visualisation that compares population growth over the past 50 years in three African countries (Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa) and three European countries (Germany, Italy, and Netherlands)

What I find fascinating is that population in the African countries has more than doubled whereas in the European countries it has been relatively stable over this time period
